Australian Alpaca Color Block Beanie
I purchased a few dozen colors of this Australian Alpaca yarn from the Morris & Sons shop in Sydney last Christmas. I was inspired by all the possibilities when faced with walls and walls of colors-I grabbed as many skeins as I could fit into my basket.
The result has been a collection of color blocked beanies inspired by textiles from the Bauhaus Movement of the 1920s.
Each beanie takes 6+ hours to knit by hand. To finish each piece, they are soaked in warm water overnight, then lightly dried so that the finished piece is slightly felted and incredibly warm.
This fitted, ribbed beanie is unisex, and can be worn cuffed or uncuffed.
Measurements are as follows:
circumference: 18" around (but stretches up to 5" more inches)
Hand wash, lay flat to dry or dry clean only.
